Databricks Solution Architect (Azure)

RMIT Professional Resources AG seeks a Senior Databricks Solution Architect in Zürich for a hybrid contract role to lead Azure Databricks platform architecture and migration.

This position serves as the primary technical authority for the Azure Databricks analytics platform. The incumbent will define the target architecture, aligning technical strategy with stakeholder needs while guiding development teams through platform design and migration efforts.

Responsibilities

• Establish and synchronize the target architecture for the Azure Databricks analytics environment.
• Provide architectural direction and technical solutions for platform development and migration initiatives.
• Serve as the go-to technical expert for both internal stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Facilitate the design and implementation of new data analytics and usage scenarios.
• Oversee the transition of existing data and workloads from legacy systems to the cloud-based platform.
• Guarantee adherence to best practices in data architecture, platform structure, and scalable cloud delivery.

Requirements

• Multiple years of professional experience functioning as a Databricks Solution Architect.
• Deep practical expertise in Azure Databricks and the design of modern analytics platforms.
• Demonstrated history in data architecture, data modelling, and migrating analytics platforms.

Nice to have

• Prior experience operating within regulated enterprise settings.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, Oracle Exadata, and Azure Cloud Services.
