Detector Test Technician - SNSPD Technologies

The company is seeking a Detector Test Technician to test and characterize SNSPD devices in Geneva. This mid-level hybrid role requires a technical degree, lab experience, and fluency in English and French.

This hands-on position focuses on the testing and characterization of SNSPD devices. The role requires close collaboration with R&D, industrialization, and production teams to ensure test results are reliable, well-documented, and directly applicable to device improvement and production decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests and characterize SNSPD devices following established procedures and performance specifications.
  • Measure a high volume of devices to evaluate yield and verify compliance with specifications.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain cryogenic, optical, and electronic test setups.
  • Support metrology activities, including the optimization and scaling of measurement setups.
  • Record, analyze, and report test data in a clear and structured manner.
  • Work closely with R&D, industrialization, and production teams to ensure timely feedback and alignment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of measurement procedures, test infrastructure, and device handling.

Requirements

  • A technical degree (CFC, HES, Bachelor's, or equivalent) in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory or industrial environment is essential.
  • Fluency in both English and French.

Nice to have

  • Experience in optics or metrology is a strong plus.
  • Strong interest in experimental work, measurements, and hardware-oriented problem solving.
  • Rigorous, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset for improving processes and setups.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
