Apa Solutions SA seeks a Technical Director for a pharmaceutical client in Chiasso, overseeing maintenance, engineering, and regulatory compliance for sustained-release drug production.
This position serves as the Technical Director for a specialized pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on developing and producing sustained-release medications. The primary objective is to lead the maintenance and engineering functions, ensuring that all plant operations strictly adhere to current regulatory standards and maintain high levels of operational integrity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee overall plant operations, ensuring the safety of staff and the structural integrity of all machinery, instrumentation, and facilities.
- Lead the internal maintenance team, organizing both preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Manage the periodic calibration of all manufacturing equipment, with a specific focus on critical systems used for modified-release formulations.
- Direct the qualification process (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new production technologies and equipment installations.
- Evaluate, select, and monitor external service providers responsible for technical and maintenance support.
- Provide technical expertise and support during inspections conducted by health authorities such as Swissmedic and the FDA, as well as during customer audits.
Requirements
- A university degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
- Demonstrated professional experience in a similar leadership role within the chemical-pharmaceutical industry.
- Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to handle technical documentation and regulatory reporting effectively.
