Driver/Data Collector in Basel, Switzerland

Tsmg seeks a Driver/Data Collector in Basel, Switzerland, for a mid-level, full-time contract role. The position involves driving vehicles equipped with 360° cameras and lidars to collect high-quality visual data for an online mapping platform, following assigned routes and revisiting areas as needed for optimal image quality.

This role supports a project collecting visual data of streets, public spaces, and points of interest across EU countries. Data is captured using vehicles with 360° cameras and lidars, stored on onboard SSD drives, and used to improve a leading online mapping platform. Drivers follow pre-assigned routes and may revisit areas during favorable weather to ensure image quality. Assignments typically last 3 to 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles fitted with 360° cameras and lidars to capture visual data.
• Drive along pre-assigned routes covering public streets, commercial zones, and points of interest.
• Return to specific locations during optimal weather to maintain high image quality.

Requirements

• Hold a valid EU-issued driver’s license.
• Have a clean criminal and driving record.
• Possess at least 5 years of driving experience.
• Bring professional driving background, such as from taxi, delivery, or logistics roles.
• Be proficient in English and the local language.
• Be comfortable using GSuite tools including Gmail, Google Spreadsheets, and Google Forms.
• Have basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.
• Show responsibility, reliability, and professionalism.
• Be familiar with the operational area.
