Driver / Data Collector in Saanen, Switzerland

Tsmg seeks a Junior Driver/Data Collector in Saanen, Switzerland, for a 3- to 6-month contract to capture street-level images and data for a major online map service. The role involves driving assigned routes, installing 360-degree cameras, and using digital tools to report progress.

This project involves gathering visual data from public streets, commercial areas, and historical sites across EU countries to improve one of the world’s most widely used online maps. Data collectors will follow specific routes to capture images, videos, and audio, contributing to a global mapping initiative that requires human input where automation is not feasible.

Responsibilities

• Mount 360-degree cameras on a vehicle’s roof for data capture
• Drive along designated routes to collect images of streets, points of interest, and public areas
• Gather data including photos, videos, and audio recordings using vehicle-mounted equipment
• Report project progress and any issues encountered during data collection
• Use digital tools such as Gmail, Google Forms, Google Meet, and WhatsApp for communication and documentation

Requirements

• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Demonstrate strong driving skills and maintain a clean driving record
• Be in good physical health to handle camera installation (6 kg, 1 m height)
• Be available for a minimum 3-month commitment
• Show a high level of responsibility and attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and capable of working independently

Nice to have

• Access to a private, monitored parking space for the company vehicle
• Basic knowledge of car mechanics or maintenance
• Preference for driving during standard business hours
