ES and MS voice teacher

TASIS American School Switzerland seeks a part-time ES and MS voice teacher to provide individual and small group lessons for students in Grades Pre-K–8, primarily after 4:00 PM on weekdays.

This hourly position supports the school’s music program by delivering age-appropriate vocal instruction to elementary and middle school students. The teacher works closely with the Performing Arts Department to foster healthy vocal technique, musical expression, and confidence in young learners through one-on-one and small group sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and small group voice lessons to students in Grades Pre-K through 8.
• Create and teach lessons that focus on healthy vocal habits, pitch accuracy, musical expression, and building student confidence.
• Choose suitable musical pieces in coordination with the Performing Arts Department.
• Prepare students for various performances, including recitals, assemblies, and school concerts.
• Keep detailed records of student attendance, lesson materials, and progress.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about student development and goals.
• Coordinate lesson schedules with families and the Performing Arts Department.
• Attend meetings or events as needed to support the broader Performing Arts program.
• Follow all TASIS school policies, safeguarding guidelines, and professional conduct standards.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
• Have formal training in vocal techniques appropriate for developing young voices.
• Show proven experience teaching voice to children and adolescents in school or studio settings.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of age-appropriate vocal techniques and repertoire, including an understanding of the changing voice.

Nice to have

• Additional certification or coursework in music education, child development, or related areas is an advantage.
