Scherer & Bühler AG seeks an Export Control Officer in Uzwil to manage international trade compliance, licensing, and cross-border project support.
The company is looking for a professional to oversee international trade compliance and support cross-border customer projects from the initial offer stage through to final delivery. This role involves collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations while contributing to process improvements and digital initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain adherence to export control, sanctions, and embargo rules across Switzerland, the European Union, and the United States.
- Conduct screenings, product classifications (ECN/ECCN), and risk evaluations, including end-use and end-user checks.
- Identify licensing needs, submit applications, and oversee the management of export licenses.
- Provide end-to-end support for customer projects, handling cross-border shipments and on-site activities.
- Guarantee precise export documentation and compliant shipping procedures.
- Advise and train internal teams on compliance matters.
- Drive process enhancements, support audits, participate in digitalization efforts, and maintain export control master data.
Requirements
- Hold a technical or commercial qualification alongside several years of experience in import/export, customs, logistics, or similar fields.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with IT systems, particularly MS Office and SAP (ERP/GTS).
- Work in a structured, independent, and goal-oriented manner, possessing strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional decision-making abilities.
- Show high commitment, flexibility, resilience, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Communicate confidently in English with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in export control or project business.
- Familiarity with export control systems.
- Additional certifications or experience in international export control regulations (CH, EU, US) and multicultural environments.
- German and other languages.
