Facilities Management Lead

Novartis seeks a Facilities Management Lead in Basel to oversee third-party service providers and strategic facility operations across multiple sites.

This position provides strategic leadership and management for facility services across the Campus Basel, Rotkreuz, and Geneva locations. The role focuses on governing third-party providers, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning facility strategies with business goals to support pharmaceutical operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the regional Facilities Management team and oversee third-party service providers to ensure adherence to budgets and continuous site operations.
• Develop and execute innovative business strategies to enhance service quality, productivity, and cost efficiency while meeting stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate with the Design & Construction Management team on capital plans before project execution.
• Partner with Procurement, HSE, and QA teams to evaluate new suppliers and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Manage third-party contracts, monitor performance indicators, and take corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in facility management or maintenance environments.
• Strong financial skills in budgeting, capital planning, and maintenance.
• Extensive experience in pharmaceutical facility operations.
• Deep knowledge of building, utility, and facility operations, including regulatory aspects of the pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills without formal authority.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity in dynamic environments.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English and German.
