ABB Power Grids seeks a Facility Technician for Chemical Utilities in Lenzburg to maintain critical utility systems and support production in a regulated industrial setting.
The company is looking for a technically skilled professional to join its facilities and infrastructure team. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of essential utility systems that support production activities, contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and operate utility systems such as process gas, ultrapure water, chemical supply, wastewater treatment, and cooling water.
- Diagnose equipment failures and apply corrective actions alongside continuous improvement strategies.
- Record maintenance tasks and manage spare parts inventory using the maintenance management system.
- Assist with the upkeep of site-wide infrastructure across various technical areas.
- Handle logistics for the procurement, storage, replacement, and disposal of chemicals and gases.
- Verify adherence to operational specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Control building management, fire alarm, and gas detection systems to ensure safety-critical equipment functions correctly.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, commissioning tasks, and KPI reporting for maintenance and budgets.
- Provide 24/7 support to ensure uninterrupted production and be available for on-call duties.
Requirements
- Completed technical apprenticeship or vocational training, ideally in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or Facility Management.
- Proven experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial utility or infrastructure systems.
- Understanding of process engineering and industrial plant operations.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Awareness of occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and relevant regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work reliably in a team, maintain a structured work style, and prioritize safety and communication.
