ABB Power Grids seeks a Mid-level Equipment Engineer in Lenzburg to maintain and optimize Diffusion equipment. The role requires a strong engineering background and troubleshooting expertise in a full-time, onsite capacity.
The company is looking for an Equipment Engineer to focus on the upkeep and performance of Diffusion and Cleaning systems. This position ensures manufacturing machinery operates efficiently and reliably while driving continuous process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute upgrades for existing manufacturing tools to boost yield, safety, and efficiency.
- Handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for complex production machinery.
- Evaluate performance metrics to spot trends, forecast potential failures, and apply preventive strategies.
- Partner with production, R&D, and quality departments to address equipment challenges and refine processes.
- Draft and update records for equipment operations, maintenance routines, and technical details.
- Provide instruction to technicians and operators regarding new machinery and revised procedures.
- Oversee spare parts stock levels and arrange timely procurement of necessary components.
- Assist with the selection, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing tools.
- Ensure all activities align with established safety standards and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- At least two years of experience in equipment engineering within a manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Demonstrated capability to diagnose complex machinery issues and determine root causes.
- Mandatory proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the semiconductor industry is highly desirable.
- Solid grasp of electronics, mechanics, and pneumatics; experience with Diffusion Semiconductor systems is a plus (e.g., ASM, Centrotherm furnaces).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
- German language skills are beneficial.
