ABB Power Grids seeks an Electrical Technician for its high voltage research lab in Baden-Daettwil. The role focuses on testing innovative ideas, implementing new measurement methods, and contributing to a sustainable energy future.

This position places you within a dynamic team of scientists and technicians at ABB Power Grids. You will test innovative concepts and develop new measurement and diagnostic techniques, playing a key part in shaping a sustainable energy future.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and upkeep cutting-edge high voltage laboratory facilities.
  • Take an active role in planning, preparing, and conducting high voltage experiments.
  • Work closely alongside researchers and technical staff.
  • Help establish and enforce safe testing protocols throughout all experimental stages.
  • Coordinate with colleagues in neighboring Hitachi Energy labs and business units.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering (FH).
  • Demonstrated background in laboratory environments, particularly setting up experiments with advanced measurement techniques.
  • Conversational proficiency in English.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with lab-integrated programming tools such as LabView, Matlab, or Python.
  • Ability to perform data analysis.
  • Previous experience working in a high voltage laboratory.
  • Strong command of the German language.
