ABB Power Grids seeks a Project Technician in Electrical Engineering for its Zürich office. The role combines technical design duties with Mandarin language support for customers in China.
The company is looking for a professional to support the development and execution of customer-specific projects involving Generator Circuit-Breakers for global power generation applications. This position leverages electrical engineering expertise alongside Mandarin Chinese proficiency to assist customers and business partners in China.
Responsibilities
- Draft customer-specific wiring and electrical schematics according to technical requirements and project specifications.
- Create and update wiring diagrams for new products and enhancements using EPLAN P8.
- Revise electrical documentation to align with customer needs, control system updates, and product changes.
- Offer technical assistance to suppliers during the manufacturing and assembly of control cabinets.
- Manage and expand component and language databases within the EPLAN P8 environment.
- Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, suppliers, and international clients.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites and power plants, primarily in China, to support project execution.
- Adhere to internal procedures, industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Completed apprenticeship, technical diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in electrical design, engineering, or a comparable technical role.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required by projects, approximately 20%.
Nice to have
- Experience with EPLAN P8 or similar ECAD software.
- German language skills.
