The company seeks a Mid-level Electrical Engineer for its Project Execution Department in Switzerland. The role involves MCC design, electrical installation supervision, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver innovative solutions for global food and feed industries.
This position supports the Project Execution Department by delivering electrical engineering solutions for complex machinery and plant layouts. The engineer will bridge mechanical and process design phases, ensuring cabinets and control systems meet quality standards while collaborating with global teams to advance the company's market-leading grain handling and food manufacturing technologies.
Responsibilities
- Generate motor and apparatus lists aligned with machine specifications.
- Translate hardware design requirements into BML lists and validate them with mechanical and process teams.
- Develop concept designs for process and cabinet layouts using engineering experience.
- Create circuit diagrams based on BML data and select appropriate components.
- Design MCC cabinet layouts and cable tray systems according to machine arrangements.
- Compile cable lists for entire plant installations and document installation accessories.
- Conduct testing and quality checks on cabinets at manufacturing facilities or third-party suppliers.
- Supervise electrical teams during on-site installations in China or other international locations.
- Perform IO and interlocking tests using programming tools alongside software engineers.
- Maintain client relationships and propose technical improvements or alternative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in MCC design or on-site electrical installation.
- Proficiency with Engineering Base, E-Plan, and AutoCAD for electrical design.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Visio, and Word.
- Familiarity with electrical components from Schneider, Siemens, and Wago.
- Basic knowledge of Siemens PLC programming, including Step 7.
- Fluent English communication skills for written and verbal interactions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams, lead projects, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project execution.
