The company is looking for a Secondary Design Engineer to join its GIS engineering team in Zürich. In this position, the candidate will support secondary engineering deliverables for high-voltage GIS projects, covering LCC and digital substation applications. The role also involves contributing to engineering documentation across various project phases and developing expertise in secondary design engineering and tools like Zuken E3.
Responsibilities
- Prepare schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications
- Support engineering execution across project phases, from base design and detail design through manufacturing documentation and as-built updates
- Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved engineering tools and standard processes
- Perform structured self-checks and contribute to technically correct, high-quality, and standard-compliant deliverables
- Support technical clarifications with internal stakeholders, project teams, and factories, and help document and close open points
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and engineering best practices, including participation in relevant expert communities
- Apply internal guidelines, engineering standards, and quality requirements while supporting safe and efficient project execution
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2–3 years of professional experience in secondary engineering, design engineering, or project engineering
- Practical experience with engineering tools such as Zuken E3 or comparable ECAD / engineering tools
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- Basic knowledge of GIS, secondary engineering principles, and applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE, or ANSI
- German and other languages
