The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) seeks a Senior Fellow or Consultant in Neonatology to join its leading neonatal unit in Lausanne, Switzerland. The role involves providing specialized care for newborns, including preterm and complex cases, within an academic setting.
The Clinic of Neonatology at CHUV stands as Switzerland's largest neonatal unit, managing over 900 admissions annually alongside more than 3,000 deliveries. This position operates within a highly specialized academic environment dedicated to advanced neonatal care, offering significant opportunities for professional growth, teaching, and research involvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for over 900 neonatal admissions each year, covering extremely preterm infants and complex term cases requiring surgical or cardiac intervention.
- Oversee the management of both inborn and outborn newborns presenting with diverse medical and surgical conditions.
- Take part in neonatal emergency transport services.
- Conduct antenatal consultations and participate in multidisciplinary fetal care programs.
Requirements
- Hold board certification or an equivalent qualification in Neonatology.
- Demonstrate at least four years of experience working in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with a minimum of six months in such a setting.
- Achieve French language proficiency at the B2 level.
- Previous experience in a Level III NICU is mandatory.
Nice to have
- Experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is strongly recommended and considered an advantage.
- Possession of FMH specialization in Pediatrics or an equivalent credential is preferred.
