Julius Bär seeks a Financial Analyst to drive performance management and finance initiatives for Western Markets & Switzerland, reporting to the Head of Performance Management.

This position sits within the CFO Western Markets & Switzerland team and reports directly to the Head of Performance Management, Business Partnering & Initiatives. The role serves as a strategic sparring partner to regional senior leadership, helping to anticipate financial trends and drive projects that enhance profitability, performance, and cost efficiency in private banking.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep quantitative analyses via the Management Information System to spot Front Office trends and recommend actionable steps.
  • Spearhead initiatives aimed at improving Front Office P&L, covering conceptualization, implementation, rollout, and progress monitoring.
  • Create clear, insightful, and visually engaging presentations on financial matters for management meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the Front Office on financial topics, providing direct exposure to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate business cases and review market strategies to support decision-making processes.
  • Improve the Performance Management and reporting framework to track the execution of long-term business strategies.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with strong academic results.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar finance role within banking, financial services, or management consulting focused on banking.
  • Solid understanding of Private Banking operations and global financial markets.
  • Expertise in slide writing, with the ability to tailor communications to specific audiences.
  • Advanced Excel and data handling capabilities, with a strong aptitude for quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking, quick problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills.
  • High personal drive, organizational capability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, meticulous, and results-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Fluency in both German and English, spoken and written.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Switzerland.

Nice to have

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Knowledge of capital and balance sheet management, including the impact of interest rate changes.
  • Proficiency in additional languages.
