Forward Deployed Scientist

Adaptyv seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Scientist in Lausanne (hybrid/remote) to bridge AI design models and automated lab operations, partnering with customers to optimize protein design campaigns and interpret experimental data.

This position sits at the intersection of customer design models and the company's automated laboratory infrastructure. The scientist will collaborate directly with clients to scope protein design initiatives, translate experimental results into actionable insights, and help shape the next generation of agentic science workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to define protein design campaign parameters, including targets, success metrics, and experimental protocols.
• Guide clients on design strategy by recommending suitable computational models and methodologies for their specific challenges.
• Develop and execute experiments to validate hypotheses, selecting appropriate expression systems, controls, and analytical assays.
• Review experimental outcomes with customers and convert findings into refined design iterations.
• Refine campaign strategies to enhance design precision and accelerate iteration cycles.
• Cultivate enduring scientific relationships with client organizations.
• Share insights with internal product, science, and platform teams to enhance overall service quality.

Requirements

• Advanced degree or practical background in protein design, computational biology, biochemistry, structural biology, or a related discipline.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with biophysical characterization methods such as SPR, BLI, and nanoDSF.
• Proficiency in analyzing experimental data using Python, interactive notebooks, and fundamental statistical techniques.
• Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset for problem-solving with clients.
• Capability to formulate hypotheses, construct experiments to test them, and adjust strategies when initial campaigns underperform.
• Self-motivated and inquisitive, taking full ownership of client success and thoroughly investigating scientific challenges.
