Full Stack Developer - Data Products

Roche seeks a Mid-level Full Stack Developer to build and maintain its internal data sharing and metadata management platform for medical data in Basel.

The Data Products team at Roche operates a platform for sharing and analyzing medical data, including clinical and real-world sources. This role focuses on maintaining and evolving an internal web application that captures and manages metadata about data assets, transforming it into a robust, generic metadata management system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the internal web application used for metadata management.
• Create various tools to assist the team in its daily activities.
• Collect, prioritize, and implement feature requests using Agile methods, including designing technical solutions.
• Collaborate with internal clients, such as data scientists, to understand their business needs and support data lifecycle management.
• Build front-end and back-end features to ensure a high-quality user experience.
• Provide support to end-users of the platform.
• Introduce new and innovative technologies where they address specific business needs.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, and Django.
• Proven ability to design REST APIs.
• Solid skills in SQL and working with relational database systems.
• Experience collaborating on codebases using Git or similar version control tools.
• Familiarity with integrating AI or LLMs into applications, along with a good understanding of ML/AI fundamentals.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Jamstack architecture.
• Experience using an ORM.
• Familiarity with container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of ElasticSearch or OpenSearch.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
