Functional Safety Specialist (IEC 61511)

Responsibilities

• Verify Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs).
• Review technical documentation.
• Conduct compliance assessments.
• Deliver results in coordination with clients and internal project managers.
• Review and verify SRS, hardware/software designs, reliability calculations, and test documentation.
• Document verification findings with full traceability and alignment with IEC 61511.
• Request technical clarifications and inputs from clients as needed.
• Coordinate results with the project manager prior to client delivery.
• Use internal tools and templates for structured documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and ensure technical excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (Technical University).
• 5+ years of experience in functional safety in the process industry.
• Deep knowledge of IEC 61511 lifecycle activities, especially in verification and assessment.
• Experience reading SRS, safety manuals, SIL certificates, and safety PLC logic.
• Proficient in PFDavg/PFH calculations.
