In vivo Senior Scientist (80-100%)*

The company seeks a Senior In Vivo Scientist in Basel to conduct animal studies, manage PK/PD research, and support experimental design while ensuring regulatory compliance and mentoring team members.

This position focuses on delivering direct in vivo research support, covering compound administration, sample collection, and clinical monitoring. The scientist helps design and implement animal models, coordinates PK/PD studies, and aligns experimental work with broader scientific goals. Additionally, the role involves operational planning, team mentoring, and maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and welfare standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct in vivo research assistance, such as administering compounds, collecting blood and tissue samples, and performing clinical observations.
• Help design, set up, and run animal models and experimental methods.
• Manage and carry out PK/PD studies, providing support for ex vivo or in vitro assays when needed.
• Work closely with research groups to keep experiments aligned with scientific targets and study parameters.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating research operations.
• Support team growth by training and mentoring colleagues.
• Maintain strict compliance with regulatory rules, standard operating procedures, and animal welfare guidelines.

Requirements

• A degree in Life Sciences or equivalent, plus either seven years of in vivo study experience with a Bachelor’s, three years with a Master’s, or recent PhD graduation (within three years).
• LTK1 Certification or an equivalent credential.
• Proven hands-on expertise in in vivo methods, including dosing, sampling, and clinical monitoring.
• Understanding of PK/PD study execution and experimental design.
• Familiarity with animal welfare regulations and working in SOP-driven settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality data.
• High accountability, reliability, and scientific curiosity.
• Proficiency in English.
