Solvias seeks a Senior IT Infrastructure and Cloud Architect for a two-year contract in Switzerland. The role focuses on designing secure, scalable enterprise systems aligned with business goals and regulatory standards.
This strategic position is responsible for the end-to-end design, governance, and evolution of Solvias’s enterprise IT infrastructure and cloud architecture. The architect ensures that all technology solutions support business objectives while strictly adhering to security protocols and regulatory mandates. The engagement is limited to a two-year contract period.
Responsibilities
- Direct the creation and ongoing improvement of enterprise IT and cloud architectures to guarantee scalability, security, and strategic alignment.
- Establish and uphold technology roadmaps, standards, and integration patterns for cloud platforms and business applications.
- Provide architectural oversight for complex projects, coordinating hardware, software, data integrations, and cloud services.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate operational needs into robust technical solutions.
- Design systems with security as a core principle, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 27001 and other relevant regulations.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovations that boost efficiency and capabilities.
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation, CMDB records, blueprints, and governance models for compliance and future reference.
- Ensure infrastructure resilience through robust backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Cybersecurity and Lab IT, to define requirements and deploy technical solutions.
- Monitor system performance and security posture, proactively suggesting improvements and responding to incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure and cloud platform engineering or architecture.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Active Directory.
- Proven track record in implementing and managing backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
- Strong background in virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud solutions (Azure, AWS), storage, and networking.
- Proficiency in automation, scripting, and configuration tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman, along with API management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO/IEC 27001, as well as security best practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, or life sciences.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
