Cloud Software Architect with Squad Lead duties

consulteer InCyber AG seeks a Senior Cloud Software Architect with Squad Lead duties in Zürich. The role involves designing scalable Microsoft Azure platforms and leading the Cloud & Infrastructure team temporarily.

The company is looking for a senior professional to serve as the Cloud Architect within its Cloud & Infrastructure team. This position requires designing secure, multi-tenant cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure while acting as the interim leader for the squad until a permanent Team Lead is appointed. The architect will collaborate with cross-domain teams to define system architecture and ensure alignment with the product roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop a secure, scalable multi-tenant cloud platform that includes APIs and integration patterns to connect robots, edge devices, cloud services, and enterprise systems.
• Maintain a hands-on approach by contributing to code repositories, reviewing pull requests, prototyping solutions, and troubleshooting issues to turn architectural decisions into production-ready implementations.
• Manage non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability, latency, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Implement security-by-design principles, including IAM, encryption, secrets management, and network segmentation, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Lead engineering teams through architecture reviews, code reviews, reference architectures, and technical mentoring.
• Collaborate with Product Management, leadership, and solution architects to define roadmaps and customer integrations.
• Balance rapid delivery with long-term robustness, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• Support industrialization and operations by implementing SRE practices, observability, incident readiness, and production troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, from architecture through production deployment.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, storage, compute, multi-tenant environments, and cloud architecture best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
• Strong architectural and implementation skills with the ability to design, build, prototype, and troubleshoot cloud solutions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives or sub-projects within startup, scale-up, or research-driven environments.
• Experience mentoring cloud engineers and supporting high-quality technical delivery.
• Ability to work in fast-moving environments where requirements evolve continuously.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, availability, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Fluent English language skills.
• Based in Switzerland and willing to work on-site.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud governance, landing zone design, monitoring, observability, or SRE practices is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, on-premises infrastructure, IoT, industrial systems (ERP/MES/SCADA), robotics, or PKI is beneficial.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert are considered a plus.
