IT Scheduler & TWS specialist

Antaes seeks a Senior IT Scheduler & TWS Specialist in Petit-Lancy, CH, to manage batch processing, troubleshoot incidents, and automate workflows using TWS, Python, and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and maintain Tivoli Dynamic Workload Scheduler (TWS) configurations across various environments, including creating new plans, analyzing impacts, and validating requests.
• Resolve critical incidents, conduct cross-functional troubleshooting, perform root-cause analysis, and participate in crisis management for scheduler-related issues.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and decommission TWS components while managing access rights, security, and obsolescence planning.
• Diagnose and recover from service degradation by managing logs, backups, and scheduler data to ensure system stability.
• Maintain batch servers and file systems, including flat file cleanup, TSM backups, and ensuring data integrity and retention policies.
• Coordinate batch plans during releases, disaster recovery exercises, and environment migrations, overseeing all TWS and batch activities.
• Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, site migrations, and yearly FAN testing, including cross-environment TWS database transfers.
• Monitor and optimize Batch S2i and satellite performance, maintaining calendars, resources, events, objects, and batch workflows.
• Develop shell and Python scripts, Ansible playbooks, and automated reporting tools to detect and resolve TWS and batch issues.
• Maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, and change documentation to ensure auditability and compliance.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Tivoli Dynamic Workload Scheduler (TWS) and related tools such as Master Domain Manager and FTA Unlinks.
• Strong proficiency in Unix shell scripting and Python for automation purposes.
• Experience with TWS planning, installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in batch processing concepts, scheduling, dependencies, and performance tuning.
• Mastery of incident management, crisis response, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Experience with ticketing and QA tools like Jira and HP Quality Center.
• Knowledge of DB2, batch file management, and environment migrations.
• Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in batch processing and TWS administration.
• Hands-on, end-to-end expertise with TWS: Plan creation, analysis, installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting
• Hands-on Unix shell scripting and at least intermediate Python scripting
• Experience with Master Domain Manager, FTA Unlinks, and batch-related failure resolution
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting failed jobs, file system issues, and capacity-related challenges
• Familiarity with Jira and HP Quality Center
• Strong knowledge of system monitoring, performance evaluation, and tuning
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• CI/CD and automation tooling experience (Ansible, scripting) is a plus
• Experience with bank/financial services domain or other regulated environments
• Experience with disaster recovery planning (DRP) and site migrations
• Experience with TWS in multi-environment setups (development, test, production)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines related to batch deployment
• Exposure to modern data management practices and backup/restore strategies
