Lead Civil Engineer - Hungarian Speaking

Kanadevia Inova seeks a Senior Lead Civil Engineer (Hungarian-speaking) for Waste-to-X projects in Zürich. The role involves leading civil engineering scope within a consortium, coordinating design interfaces, and supporting procurement and execution phases.

This position leads the civil engineering efforts for Waste-to-X initiatives within a civil consortium or EPC framework. The role is pivotal in transforming waste materials into energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer, directly supporting the company's mission to create sustainable value from discarded resources.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil design coordination with consortium partners, subcontractors, internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Direct design activities across procurement and execution phases for civil, structural, geotechnical, architectural, and infrastructure components.
• Facilitate seamless collaboration among civil engineering disciplines and project stakeholders throughout design and construction stages.
• Contribute to the preparation of civil procurement packages, including technical and commercial contract specifications.
• Support contractor negotiations and address technical inquiries during procurement and project execution.
• Provide project progress updates to management and operations teams, while assisting with claim management.
• Travel up to 10% of the time for project coordination and execution as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in EPC, construction, or large industrial projects as a Design Engineer.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects in Hungary and/or the CEE region, with a solid grasp of local regulations, permitting processes, and industry standards.
• Strong understanding of international civil engineering design and construction codes and standards.
• Fluent proficiency in both Hungarian and English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• An established professional network and local market knowledge in Hungary.
• Proven project management capabilities, with PM certifications being a plus.
• Experience with structural design software and 3D BIM tools like Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Additional European languages.
