Legal Trainee Research & Development and Innovative Medicines

Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG seeks a Legal Trainee for Research & Development and Innovative Medicines in Basel. The role covers pharmaceutical law, contracts, and commercial matters.

This position supports the company's research and development activities by handling legal matters related to pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations, contract law, and commercial transactions. The trainee will advise on development, regulatory, digital, and commercial issues tied to the creation and launch of new medicines.

Responsibilities

• Handling legal projects across pharmaceutical and healthcare regulations, contract law, commercial law, licensing, and transactions.
• Advising on development, regulatory, digital, and commercial issues connected to the research and commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
• Conducting legal research and drafting documents on private and public law disputes.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, including licensing, research collaboration, distribution, confidentiality, service, and consultancy contracts.
• Providing legal support for projects such as contract templates, legal training, global guidelines, policies, and research collaborations, while interacting with global, regional, and country legal and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) or Master of Law (MLaw) degree, or equivalent from a Swiss university.
• Prior professional or internship experience is preferred.
• Good proficiency in German and English.
