Alpiq AG seeks a Market Risk Manager in Olten to strengthen its second line of defense. The role supports trading activities through risk monitoring, reporting, and analysis, suitable for mid-level candidates.
This position serves as a trusted business partner within the second line of defense, aiming to reinforce the department's capabilities. The role is flexible regarding seniority, accommodating both junior and experienced professionals who can challenge, control, and support the business effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and support to business units while challenging their activities.
- Enhance risk monitoring processes, including real-time views, exposure tracking, and stress testing.
- Generate, validate, and continuously improve various risk reports.
- Evaluate market liquidity, model calibrations, and valuation adjustments.
- Perform risk assessments and conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed.
- Maintain close collaboration with the Trading Division.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, engineering, or another quantitative field.
- Prior experience as a Risk Manager or in a similar role within a trading environment.
- Strong understanding of derivatives pricing and option theory.
- Experience with valuation models and deep knowledge of European power and gas markets.
- Familiarity with core Risk Management concepts.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have
- Significant exposure to trading, particularly in power and gas markets.
- Proficiency in German.
- Skills in SQL and Python.
