Senior Market Risk Analyst Energy Trading (all)

BKW Building Solutions AG seeks a Senior Market Risk Analyst for energy trading in Bern. The role focuses on managing market risks, analysing trading positions, and improving governance structures to support decision-making.

This position is responsible for overseeing market risks within the energy trading division. The analyst will collaborate with Trading, Origination, and Sales teams to evaluate strategies, assess portfolio impacts, and provide transparent insights that guide business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define, track, and enhance governance frameworks for market risks in collaboration with business units.
• Evaluate trading positions and strategies to deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
• Ensure accurate reflection of risks, opportunities, and valuations based on current market conditions.
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to clarify how market shifts affect portfolios.
• Enhance reporting and analytics tools to support daily trading and portfolio management.
• Assist with new product launches, review trading activities, and maintain regulatory compliance as part of operational risk management.

Requirements

• Proven background in energy trading or the broader energy sector, with experience in dynamic markets.
• Practical risk management experience, preferably in renewables or business-facing roles.
• Understanding of valuation models and market mechanics to extract meaningful insights without building models from scratch.
• Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools, including SQL, Python, or BI solutions.
• Strong initiative and ownership, with a collaborative approach to driving solutions.
• Ability to remain organized in fast-paced settings, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate confidently in English.
