The company seeks a MICE & Groups Sales Manager for its luxury property in Montreux. The role focuses on growing business within the Swiss domestic and German-speaking markets.
This position serves as the primary ambassador for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) offerings at a prestigious luxury hotel in Switzerland. Reporting to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, the incumbent drives revenue growth by positioning the property as the top choice for corporate and social groups across the DACH region.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the Swiss domestic market, with a specific emphasis on German-speaking Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
- Establish the hotel as the leading destination for corporate meetings, incentive programs, conferences, and social gatherings throughout Switzerland.
- Manage and expand a portfolio of key accounts, including corporate clients, event agencies, professional conference organizers, and incentive houses.
- Negotiate pricing and finalize group bookings through written contracts that align with established hotel policies.
- Plan and execute targeted sales trips, roadshows, and client entertainment activities in key feeder markets.
- Represent the hotel at industry tradeshows and networking forums to increase visibility within the German-speaking MICE community.
- Conduct site inspections and familiarization tours for prospects, ensuring tailored and compelling presentations.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for group and MICE segments.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and Events teams to maintain rate integrity and ensure seamless handover of confirmed bookings.
- Monitor group pace, conversion rates, and lead volumes to adjust prospecting strategies accordingly.
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Respond to all business leads and requests for proposals within 24 hours with tailored, brand-compliant offers.
- Conduct competitor surveys and recommend strategies based on market intelligence and demand trends.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all hotel services, event spaces, capacities, and food and beverage offerings.
- Record all account activities and business details in the hotel’s CRM systems.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and LQA standards.
Requirements
- At least three years of proven sales experience in luxury hospitality, MICE, or the events industry, preferably within Switzerland or the DACH region.
- A demonstrated track record of developing new accounts, generating group revenue, and managing client portfolios in competitive luxury markets.
- Native or near-native fluency in German and Swiss German.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- A strong commercial mindset with a data-driven, revenue-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Switzerland and the DACH region for client development and trade events.
- Highly responsible, reliable, and capable of working autonomously within a high-performance commercial team.
Nice to have
- A strong existing network within the Swiss corporate and MICE landscape.
- Proficiency in French.
- A university or college degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Opera, Delphi FDC, or equivalent hospitality CRM systems.
