PHP Developer

SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Mid-level PHP Developer in Bern for a remote role. The position involves building web apps with PHP, Laravel/Symfony, and Vue.js, requiring fluent German and good English.

Responsibilities

• Create and upkeep web applications using PHP, alongside Laravel or Symfony.
• Construct user interfaces utilizing JavaScript and Vue.js.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to establish project specs.
• Produce clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Engage in code reviews to ensure high standards.
• Keep current with new technologies and industry trends to enhance skills and results.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related area, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Demonstrated background as a Software Engineer or in a comparable position.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, including experience with Laravel or Symfony.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript and practical experience with Vue.js.
• Solid grasp of web development principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with front-end tools like HTML5, CSS3, and SASS.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent German and good English language skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with other JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Experience with database management systems, preferably MySQL.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud services and DevOps practices.
