ETH Zurich seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher in Robot Learning to lead independent research on humanoid and mobile robots, combining modern learning methods with real-world applications.
This position is based within the Mobile Robotics Lab at ETH Zürich. The primary objective is to design robot policies that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the human environment. The role focuses on investigating complex questions using real-world robotic platforms, including humanoid robots, drones, and mobile manipulators.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive an independent research agenda in mobile robotics, leveraging contemporary learning-based techniques.
- Oversee and facilitate high-impact research projects utilizing the lab’s humanoid robot platform, specifically the Unitree G1.
- Identify and secure external funding opportunities while establishing collaborations within the ETH network.
- Provide co-supervision for PhD and Master’s level students.
- Engage in teaching duties, which includes the creation of new educational materials.
Requirements
- A PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- A track record of impactful publications in top-tier academic venues.
- Deep expertise in modern Robot Learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python and C++, along with familiarity with tools like IsaacLab and PyTorch.
- Strong communication abilities and a genuine interest in mentoring others.
