The Idiap Research Institute seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher in Fundamental Machine Learning to conduct independent research and collaborate with the Machine Learning Group in Martigny, Switzerland.

The Machine Learning Group at the Idiap Research Institute is offering a fully funded postdoctoral position focused on fundamental questions in machine learning and deep learning. The successful candidate will lead independent research projects while actively collaborating with group members and international partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects addressing core challenges in machine learning and deep learning.
• Work closely with colleagues within the Machine Learning Group.
• Provide co-supervision for Master's and PhD students.
• Engage in ongoing research partnerships with international organizations.
• Develop skills in securing research funding.

Requirements

• Demonstrated history of rigorous research through publications at top AI, ML, computer vision, or NLP conferences.
• A PhD degree or equivalent research experience in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, or a closely related field.
• Proficient programming abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
