ABB seeks a Power Electronics Engineer in Untersiggenthal to design traction converters and energy storage systems, ensuring high-quality integration and testing within vehicle applications.

This position is responsible for the efficient delivery of traction projects through technical excellence and close collaboration. The engineer reports directly to the Team Leader Power Electronics Engineering and plays a key role in ensuring product quality and seamless system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design traction power electronics converters and energy storage systems (ESS) for smooth vehicle integration.
  • Manage the specification, execution, analysis, and documentation of Type and Qualification tests.
  • Build deep expertise in core power engineering to provide technical guidance to colleagues.
  • Drive the evolution of traction product families by implementing standardization and continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Qualified Power Electronics or Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power electronics design.
  • Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with traction converters and energy storage systems.
  • German language skills.
