Sonova seeks a Practical Trainee in Python Development based in Stäfa, Switzerland. The role involves enhancing software infrastructure for hearing aid customization and migrating legacy code.
The company is evolving a new platform that will serve as the foundation for future audiological solutions. In this position, you will help build the software infrastructure that powers the fitting and customization of hearing aids, working closely with the team to shape these critical tools.
Responsibilities
- Expand and improve the existing Python-based framework.
- Migrate functionality from the current C# fitting software into Python.
- Test, validate, and optimize the migrated code to guarantee reliability and performance.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of development processes and software infrastructure.
Requirements
- Currently in the final year of a Bachelor's degree or pursuing a Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated practical proficiency in Python programming.
- Solid grasp of object-oriented programming concepts, software design, testing, and debugging.
- Ability to read and comprehend C# code.
- Good command of the English language.

- Experience using AI-supported development tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
