Principal Architect

Owt Swiss, a Swisscom company and technology consulting firm, seeks a Principal Architect in Lausanne to lead software architecture for AI-integrated, cloud-native solutions. The role involves driving digital transformation for leading Swiss organizations with a hybrid work model.

As a Principal Architect, you will lead transformation initiatives across top Swiss organizations, leveraging AI and cloud-native solutions. The company partners with Anthropic and operates Alpha Factory, Switzerland’s first center of excellence for responsible, human-centered AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable software solutions that incorporate AI capabilities and align with business goals
• Create cloud-native architectures using containers and implement robust CI/CD pipelines
• Lead full lifecycle architecture projects from initial consultation to production, ensuring on-time delivery and client satisfaction
• Make strategic architectural choices (patterns, tools, integrations) and document them through ADRs and technical guidelines
• Serve as the technical liaison between project teams and stakeholders, translating business needs into practical technical plans
• Participate in development activities such as code reviews, proof-of-concepts, AI pipeline design, and critical component development while maintaining technical consistency
• Support internal growth by mentoring colleagues, monitoring AI advancements, and improving best practices across Owt Swiss

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in software architecture for large-scale projects, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution
• Strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns including microservices, event-driven, hexagonal, and clean architecture, along with principles like SOLID and DDD
• Enthusiasm for AI with practical experience designing or integrating LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and agentic systems
• Proven expertise in either Java Spring Boot or .NET development stacks
• Experience building resilient, scalable systems using cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically, manage stakeholders, and communicate effectively across business and IT teams
• Solid grasp of application security, including OWASP guidelines, authentication/authorization, and encryption
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and monitoring for distributed systems
• Fluency in French and English at C1 level or higher

• Basic knowledge of German is beneficial
