Production Section Head

Escatec Switzerland AG seeks a Senior Production Section Head to oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and team leadership in an on-site role.

This position is responsible for managing the complete production workflow to guarantee that manufacturing activities run smoothly and meet established quality benchmarks. The role focuses on aligning daily operations with the company’s strategic goals while maintaining high standards of output and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager in overseeing all manufacturing activities.
• Direct supervisors, technicians, line leaders, and production staff to hit targets and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor daily output to ensure it matches targets and supports monthly sales budgets.
• Maintain high-quality standards by adhering to work instructions, customer specifications, and IPC standards.
• Maximize machine utilization through strict preventive maintenance schedules and the use of original spare parts.
• Track Work-In-Progress inventory and ensure timely closure of Shop Floor Control (SFC) records.
• Control scrap costs by preventing defects on the manufacturing line.
• Manage the cost center and improve efficiency, productivity, and test yields.
• Identify and secure necessary resources to meet production plans.
• Enforce 5S housekeeping principles and maintain a disciplined, positive work environment.
• Provide training to subordinates to foster strong teamwork.
• Handle recruitment, retention, and development of team members.
• Lead or steer projects, guiding the operations team on timelines for new product launches.
• Collaborate with plant management to implement strategic improvements in production.
• Apply work measurement techniques such as Time Study and work sampling to set standard times.
• Ensure safe working methods are adopted and warn operators against unsafe behaviors.

Requirements

• Technical education with knowledge of electronics and process methodology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a contract manufacturing setting.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
• Extensive practical experience in leading production teams within electronics manufacturing or a similar industry.
• At least 1 year of computer literacy.
• Fluent proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Nice to have

• A degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Professional Technology, or Business Administration (FH, HF, or equivalent).
