This senior academic position focuses on advancing neurological research and teaching while driving interdisciplinary partnerships across the Clinical Neuroscience Center, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology departments. The role leverages Zurich's translational ecosystem to bridge basic science with clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a strategic vision for the future of neurological research and academic instruction.
- Manage large-scale research groups, obtain external funding, and deliver teaching across various academic levels.
- Expand internal hospital partnerships and strengthen ties with outside research organizations.
- Execute high-quality independent research, mentor emerging scientists, and contribute to innovative, research-driven university education.
Requirements
- Possess a habilitation or equivalent academic credential alongside board certification in neurology.
- Showcase leadership capabilities comparable to a senior physician or attending physician at a university hospital.
- Demonstrate German language proficiency at B2 level or commit to achieving it within a reasonable timeframe.
Nice to have
- Experience in cerebrovascular diseases, neurooncology, movement disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, or neuroimmunology.
