The company seeks a Senior Project Engineer for high-voltage bushings in Zürich. The role focuses on optimizing products and processes within the Insulation & Components division.
This position sits within the Insulation & Components division at ABB Power Grids, where the engineer will concentrate on high-voltage transformer bushings. The role requires partnering with diverse teams across the organization while engaging with a worldwide leader in electrical insulation technology.
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage internal initiatives aimed at enhancing products and manufacturing methods for high-voltage bushings.
- Evaluate current designs and production workflows to boost efficiency, maintain quality standards, and reduce expenses.
- Spot opportunities for enhancement and execute necessary changes.
- Partner with engineering, production, quality assurance, and other internal groups.
- Create technical reports, track project timelines, and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Assist in bringing new technologies and materials into industrial production.
Requirements
- Hold a technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrate professional background in overseeing technical development or improvement projects.
- Possess strong mechanical expertise, preferably with exposure to electrical insulators or high-voltage components.
- Work in a structured, solution-focused manner with excellent communication abilities.
- Fluency in both German and English, including written and verbal proficiency.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, or comparable improvement frameworks.
