ABB Power Grids seeks a Senior Project Manager for its High Voltage GIS unit in Zürich. The role involves leading global projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring financial and risk compliance.
Based in Zürich-Oerlikon, this position sits within the High Voltage Product group’s Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) unit. The incumbent will manage development and production activities on a global scale, representing the company to international clients and overseeing projects from sales handover through to final closure as part of a distributed team spanning Switzerland, India, and the USA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee complex projects across all lifecycle stages, starting from the sales handover until final closure.
- Act as the main point of contact for international clients, including leading meetings and factory acceptance tests.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while actively pursuing new opportunities.
- Track project progress, resource allocation, and financial performance.
- Manage changes, claims, and risks, and provide financial reports to the controlling department.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders through clear and consistent communication.
- Contribute to process enhancements and participate in strategic company initiatives.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as a Project Manager within an industrial setting.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in either German or French is also required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead customer meetings and deliver presentations.
- Strong grasp of risk management, budget control, and financial reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
