ABB Power Grids seeks a Senior Project Manager Engineering (80–100%) in Turgi, CH. The role leads converter system projects from tender through completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery aligned with quality standards.

The company is looking for a senior professional to oversee converter system projects from the sales and tender phase through to final delivery. The position focuses on ensuring engineering outputs meet quality standards, stay within budget, and adhere to established timelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects within set timelines and budgets.
• Drive technical solution development during the sales and tender phase for engineering.
• Establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables alongside stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
• Communicate project plans, progress, and expectations clearly and proactively.
• Assess resource requirements and ensure effective allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track engineering project milestones, timelines, and deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Identify technical risks early, manage changes in scope, and implement suitable mitigation measures.
• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members, fostering accountability and high performance.
• Conduct project reviews and capture key learnings, deriving actionable recommendations for future improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution within an engineering environment.
• Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with power systems and converter systems.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
• German language skills.
