Robotic Welding Operator

SR Technics in Zürich seeks a Robotic Welding Operator to manage automated welding systems for aviation component repair and manufacturing, ensuring strict quality and safety standards.

This position focuses on the operation and oversight of robotic welding equipment dedicated to the repair and production of aircraft parts. The role supports the company’s mission to safely power flight by maintaining high standards in manufacturing and maintenance processes within a global, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Run and supervise robotic welding machines for aviation component repair and production.
• Execute welding procedures strictly following approved repair data, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Maintain full adherence to aviation quality, safety, and documentation protocols.
• Configure and calibrate fixtures, tools, and software programs for various component types.
• Detect process anomalies early, conduct basic troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues as necessary.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including reducing rework and scrap, and supporting lean and 5S initiatives.

Requirements

• Vocational training completed in welding, metalworking, mechanics, or mechatronics.
• Prior experience with robotic or automated welding processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance.
• English skills at B1 level required.

Nice to have

• Ideally experience in aviation, MRO, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with industrial robots is an advantage.
• German is a plus.
• Structured, detail-oriented working style with good teamwork and communication skills.
