Senior Java Backend Engineer

Nexthink seeks a Senior Java Backend Engineer in Lausanne to design scalable distributed services for its digital employee experience platform. The role combines technical leadership with collaborative agile practices.

As the market leader in digital employee experience management, Nexthink relies on this position to architect and deliver robust, large-scale distributed services. The engineer will drive the evolution of the data platform while ensuring high quality and performance standards across the product.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain resilient, scalable distributed services for the data platform.
• Accelerate data onboarding processes and streamline platform delivery.
• Partner with Product Management and engineering teams to uphold quality standards in an iterative environment.
• Work with architects to create scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and advocate for improvements in security, performance, and product quality.
• Promote team efficiency and enforce best practices.
• Deliver complex features and handle L3 support requests alongside the team.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies and iterative development cycles.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience developing Java applications within SaaS environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Professional-level fluency in spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Strong background with microservices frameworks, particularly Micronaut or Spring.
• Familiarity with streaming services and distributed caching systems.
• Experience utilizing CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
