Senior Backend Developer (Scala)

Exeon seeks a Senior Backend Developer (Scala) in Zürich to lead architectural decisions, mentor the team, and develop features for its NDR product within a hybrid, remote-first environment.

As a core member of the backend guild, this role collaborates with the Exeon DEV team to build new features for the main NDR product. The position is responsible for navigating general architecture decisions, driving continuous improvement of the existing code base, and working hands-on on implementation while defining and refining architectural concepts for the team.

Responsibilities

• Guide the backend team on architectural questions for new features and refactoring.
• Mentor backend team members on growth paths.
• Actively develop backend code impacting the GUI of the NDR tool and the analytics backend.
• Work closely with the DEV team to develop new features ensuring the continued success of Exeon.NDR.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong Scala coding skills with a knack for architectural topics.
• Ability to write readable, well-structured, and performant code.
• Natural ability to write code together with tests, understanding unit-test and integration-test coverage.
• Ability to understand complex code and break tasks down into easily digestible pieces.
• Fluent in English.
