Senior Backend Developer

Blp Digital, a fast-growing Swiss SaaS scaleup, seeks a Senior Backend Developer in Zürich to help build AI-driven ERP automation for enterprises. The role involves designing scalable systems, mentoring teams, and contributing to product evolution with a focus on clean code and technical excellence.

With recent investment from Goldman Sachs Alternatives and expansion into the UK, the company is scaling rapidly and seeks a senior developer to help shape its technical future.

Responsibilities

• Work with business teams to interpret needs and turn them into product enhancements.
• Create well-structured, maintainable, and high-quality backend code.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold technical standards and quality.
• Engage in system architecture discussions and help choose technologies that support scalability and performance.
• Lead technical planning for key projects, influence product direction, and guide junior developers.
• Collaborate with peers to refine workflows, tools, and team practices, promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of five years in software engineering roles.
• Solid grasp of software development principles, Clean Code, and Clean Architecture.
• Ability to convert business challenges into clear technical specifications and code.
• Entrepreneurial attitude: align daily tasks with broader team and company goals, balance efficiency with quality, and deliver solutions effectively.
• Take ownership of technical deliverables, the product, and team development.
• Proactively support team objectives and address gaps as they arise.
• Break down complex systems, focus on core elements, and explain technical concepts clearly.
