Senior Program Manager Microbial - 80-100% (f/m/d)

Lonza seeks a Senior Program Manager Microbial in Visp, Switzerland, to lead complex programs from contract to delivery, acting as the primary liaison between Sales and Operations while ensuring high-quality, on-time project execution.

This position functions as the central link between Sales and Operations, responsible for executing customer contracts and advising on the best solutions to bring drugs to patients. The role guides projects through their entire lifecycle, collaborating with the project team to ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete program lifecycle, starting from contract signing through to final delivery.
• Serve as the main customer contact, representing their interests on-site.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams within a matrix structure.
• Guarantee that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality benchmarks.
• Engage proactively with internal and external parties to address risks and solve problems.
• Collaborate with Sales and Proposals groups to handle scope adjustments.
• Mentor and develop team members to encourage growth and teamwork.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology, biology, or a closely related discipline.
• Possess several years of experience in project or program management, preferably within pharma or CDMO settings.
• Demonstrate a solid grasp of microbial drug substance manufacturing processes.
• Show a track record of managing intricate programs involving various stakeholders.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Display excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Be fluent in English.

Nice to have

• A PhD is preferred.
• Knowledge of German is advantageous.
