Baer AG seeks a Senior Test Manager to oversee testing for Core Banking & Pricing System Integration projects in Zürich. The role requires extensive experience in banking fee engines, test automation, and team leadership.
This position centers on the testing and quality assurance of Core Banking and Pricing System Integration initiatives. The successful candidate will guide testing efforts throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that complex banking software meets functional, regulatory, and performance standards while aligning with broader project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise software testing activities from initial planning through final execution.
- Establish comprehensive test strategies, manage test environments, and maintain rigorous defect tracking systems.
- Partner with development teams, business analysts, and project managers to synchronize testing efforts with project milestones.
- Oversee functional, regression, and non-functional testing procedures.
- Coordinate the allocation and usage of test environments.
- Enhance test automation capabilities, particularly for automated regression testing.
- Guarantee adherence to quality standards, regulatory mandates, and industry best practices.
- Mentor and lead testing personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in test efficiency and coverage.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Senior Test Manager or Testing Lead within complex IT environments.
- Deep expertise in banking pricing, including hands-on experience testing core banking fee engines (such as HOST, T24, or Avaloq) or satellite systems feeding into these engines.
- Solid grasp of software testing methodologies, including agile and waterfall approaches, along with proficiency in test management tools like JIRA and HP ALM.
- Practical experience with test automation frameworks, specifically Selenium, CI/CD integration, and performance testing tools.
- Background in Java development, including the use of Claude Code.
- Fluent command of English, both written and verbal.
Nice to have
- Prior involvement in large-scale core banking transformation projects.
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Level, PMP, or Agile Testing.
