Spatial Planning Specialist for FCC Project (SR-SE-2026-155-LD)

CERN seeks a Spatial Planning Specialist for the FCC Project in Geneva. The role focuses on integrating the facility into local territories through stakeholder engagement and strategic planning.

This position reports to the Territorial Integration Pillar Coordinator within the FCC Project. The specialist is tasked with ensuring the project achieves strong territorial integration, sustainability, and broad support from local communities and authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional groups focused on territorial planning issues.
  • Manage information flow with local stakeholders and flag matters needing strategic decisions.
  • Establish and sustain relationships with public bodies, residents, and institutional partners.
  • Identify and advance development opportunities linked to the FCC project.
  • Support the management of the territorial planning workstream through project reviews and schedule monitoring.
  • Create consolidated progress reports and help develop tools for project monitoring.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Political Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated history of managing territorial planning for major infrastructure developments.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and facilitate processes involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and supporting territorial development initiatives connected to infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with spatial planning tools, procedures, and urban policies in France and/or Switzerland.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and French.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience working in cross-border or multi-institutional settings.
