Sr. Manager, Process Engineering

The company seeks a Sr. Manager, Process Engineering in Zuchwil, CH, to lead manufacturing process optimization, team development, and continuous improvement within a regulated medical device setting.

This position delivers strategic and technical direction for manufacturing and process engineering efforts supporting DePuy Synthes operations. The role focuses on building, refining, and maintaining reliable production methods that guarantee quality, efficiency, and the ability to scale. It also drives ongoing enhancements, facilitates the launch of new products, and contributes to business expansion in a controlled medical device landscape.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor a group of process engineers tasked with designing, refining, and maintaining manufacturing methods.
• Create and implement engineering strategies that align with operational, quality, and business goals.
• Spearhead ongoing enhancement projects targeting safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, and Operations teams to boost production results and support new product launches.
• Oversee technical aspects of process validations, equipment qualifications, and change management.
• Guarantee that production methods meet regulatory, quality system, and internal company standards.
• Review process performance metrics to spot risks, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Assist with capital projects, automation efforts, and technology upgrades to enhance operational capacity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or related field).
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in process or manufacturing engineering.
• Previous experience in people leadership, including managing and developing engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, process validation, and continuous improvement methods.
• Background working in a regulated manufacturing setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Clear communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured improvement methodologies.
• Experience supporting new product introductions and scale-up activities.
• Knowledge of automation, equipment integration, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Experience leading capital projects or large-scale process improvements.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent preferred.
