Abbott seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for line support in Zurich. This junior role focuses on production optimization, issue resolution, and process improvement within a medical device environment.
Manufacturing Engineering at this facility handles production support and optimization. The position acts as the main contact for addressing production challenges to ensure smooth, compliant operations. The engineer joins a small, agile team with wide-ranging responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver initial technical assistance to the manufacturing floor when problems occur.
- Examine production deviations, assess their impact, and decide on material disposition.
- Collaborate with the team to investigate complaints and resolve production issues.
- Propose corrective and preventive actions derived from thorough engineering analysis.
- Track and analyze yield rates and other manufacturing performance indicators.
- Lead continuous process improvements by applying Operational Excellence (OPEX) methods.
- Manage change control processes within the PLM Windchill system.
- Act as a subject matter expert during audit activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Up to three years of work experience, ideally within the MedTech sector.
- Advanced proficiency in both German and English.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with medical technology regulations such as ISO 13485, FDA 21CFR Part 820, and GxP.
