ERServices is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I in Mezzovico, Switzerland. This full-time junior role focuses on surface treatments, process optimization, and compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Based in Mezzovico (TI), this full-time position reports directly to the Process Engineering Supervisor. The role supports production activities, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with quality standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to expert for surface treatment topics across cross-functional teams.
- Prepare production guidelines and standard operating procedures to support manufacturing activities.
- Develop new processes to facilitate the introduction of new products.
- Manage non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures.
- Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct engineering studies to optimize manufacturing processes, including process flow analysis, time studies, and capacity evaluation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Provide daily engineering support for production, including troubleshooting of process and data-related issues.
- Support process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure proper documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance, IT) to ensure robust and compliant manufacturing processes.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfers, and system/data setup.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, GMP, GDP, and applicable regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a regulated environment (medical device/pharma preferred).
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Knowledge of surface treatment processes (e.g. anodizing, electropolishing, passivation, sandblasting, tumbling, packaging).
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, materials science, and/or industrial processes.
- Basic experience in a production environment or similar industrial context.
Nice to have
- Experience with ERP (e.g., SAP) and/or MES systems.
- German language skills.
