Project Leader External Manufacturing

ITech Consult AG seeks a Senior Project Leader for External Manufacturing in Rotkreuz. This on-site role manages product development, supplier collaboration, and industrialization of diagnostic consumables.

The position serves as the central point for managing parts and products within the diagnostic workflow that are produced by external suppliers. The role encompasses the full lifecycle of new product development, ongoing product maintenance, supply assurance, and the strategic selection and upkeep of manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee one or more product development initiatives from start to finish.
• Define and deliver project outputs, including product specifications, in coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Identify potential risks and issues, performing impact analysis and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Plan, control, and monitor the project budget and allocated resources.
• Track project progress against the schedule to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of work packages, including those handled by external partners.
• Lead and manage the project team within a matrix organizational structure.
• Drive key initiatives focused on the design and industrialization of consumables to generate business value and patient benefit.
• Deliver new product designs and establish manufacturing lines at external sites, overseeing the process from raw material sourcing to final packaging.
• Communicate project status to stakeholders while balancing scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field; a PhD is also acceptable.
• At least five years of experience in IVD product development and production engineering.
• Familiarity with process management methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of in-vitro diagnostic regulations, including ISO 13485, IVDR, and FDA 21 CFR part 820.
• Proven experience in collaborating with external manufacturing partners.
• Excellent proficiency in English for communication.
